Dr Dray, I love your videos! Thank you for all the work you do. I enjoy your vlogs the most :) I hope you have a great day!
Thank you! You too!
Love the coconut lime shave oil. Smells so good! š
I need to try that one next
I’m going to Walmart this afternoon to see what’s availableš
Can I send you mine lol? My routine is built around Dr D so I was shocked that I really hate the tree hut shave oil. It’s too slicky & increases cuts for me, but clearly I’m the weirdo, everyone seems quite enchanted. It gives real 90s vibes and that also deeply annoys me for some reason lol…
Thanks for trying out the Pao, but — I have serious nasolabial fold wrinkles and vertical lines above my upper lip. I’m in my 50s. I would like to see maybe 30 of your viewers with these actual issues, who are over 50, try this, take photos, etc. Would be super helpful. You are young and beautiful and really don’t have any visible wrinkles yet! :)
Iām 36 and Iād do it. I have terrible mouth lines that are vertical from my small mouth but pronounced cheeks
The problem if youāre past menopause is that the skin laxity you get probably wonāt be fixed by toning muscle. But if youāre not a sagger like me, it might help.
I use to be self conscious about this too until a random stranger at a restaurant complemented me on them! šš she said that those lines are a sign you have a happy life and smiled alot. Which is true!! š now I don’t see them as such a bad thing. š
Keep in mind that itās because of her CARE that she looks like she does, NOT cuz of her age or genetics! Hello?!
Wow! Your technique using the flipper-flapper has greatly improved! Looking forward to your 8 week review!šāļøš
Wow- 2 million subbies- richly deserved, Andrea!! I am so curious to see the long-term effects of the Pao on your jawline and cheeks, but also hope you’re keeping pics of your neck. Looks like it really engages those muscles, too.
You are such a scholar and scientist! The only derm I follow for that reason. Thank you for teaching us!
I know somebody wrote a similar comment in one of your other videos talking about Rhode, but I also really appreciate how you arenāt automatically dismissive of celeb/influencer-associated brands and are willing to test them for an appropriate time. While of course various brands can be overhyped, it would be a shame for people to pass up decent products that could provide a noticeable benefit to the skin due to negative connotations or biases without knowing how it actually performs
I’ve got to be honest, celeb lines have no purpose from a consumers’ standpoint and are never the best value. I am bothered by consumers who are not wealthy worrying about how well Hailey Bieber is doing. I would prefer to see a trusted skincare expert actually develop a line. Hailey is a spokesperson and I’m sure got to be involved but we know she was not essential in the process. I don’t understand why anyone (who doesn’t get a percentage of her income) cares. Wouldn’t you rather buy the best performing product for your needs & budget? Why the love for strangers’ economic success? It’s one thing that should not even be possible in a capitalist system. Where did informed self-interest go? I’m not mad, I m genuinely confused!
Thank you for the AHA moment! I have suffered for YEARS from a very sensitive mouth. Mouthwashes are a complete no ho because they just feel like theyāre melting my entire mouth and gums, cleaning my teeth has become a twice daily torture session because the toothpaste makes my gums, the inside of my cheeks, my tongue, the roof of my mouth and my lips burn like mad! Iāve always thought it was a case of tough, get on with it and stop being a wimp UNTIL I just heard you mention childrenās toothpaste! I donāt have children and as such I hadnāt even considered that companies purposely make milder toothpastes especially for childrenās sensitive mouths!!
I canāt believe i didnāt think of it myself YEARS ago! Right Iām off to the supermarket to get some childrenās toothpaste!! Thank you so much!! š¤¦š»āāļø
Have you tried the sensodyne sensitive line?? That’s what I use and I love it
I use kids berry listerine! Mild and tastes great!! Much better than adult mouthwash
Also….there are alcohol-free mouthwashes. I suspect it’s the alcohol that’s the culprit when it comes to stinging…..
@Pat Wagner in adult mouthwashes -ive noticed thereās still burning even when itās alcohol-free ):
Didnāt you hear? Edward Norton is busy developing a new skincare line!
(Beverly DāAngelo is the actress who played the mom, btw.)
Teasing, of course! Have a great week, Dr. Dray!
I love those types of videos too. U go through allll that schooling so u can understand how the skin shows signs of whatās truly going on
As an early 80’s kid, I’m with you on the movies of the 90’s/2000’s! I’ve been on a streak of watching a lot of older movies for the past few years. It’s rare that I find new ones I like but there are some really good ones. Happy Sunday!
Thank you for sharing information on the serious skin signs ⤠Iām still happy that you give clinically informed consumer insight though. I do love a weekend blog. I love your sense of humour and quirky stories and observations. Have a great wee ahead. See you soon ā¤
Thanks for keeping us updated on the PAO facial exerciser. Looks like your getting good at it. I’d like to try it, but I’m waiting for what you think after 8 weeks. Thanks Dr. Dray.
I just got some pumpkin spice candles at Walmart (the Mainstays brand) & I have to say that I am very happily surprised. My favorite candle is a candle that I get at Kohlās. Itās $30 & burns really well & throws off a strong scent. The $6.98 candle I bought at Walmart actually does just as well. It smells beautiful & throws a strong scent. In fact, I love it so much. Iām going back to Walmart today to stock up. Anyway, great blog, as always. Have a great week!! š«¶
You really got the hang of that gadget! Iām definitely looking forward to your 8 week results š
I really love watching your videos after coming home from a 12 hr. Shift. Thanks for filming over the weekend!
I ⤠Edward Norton as well! Heās intriguing. American History X is Fād up. I like how you touched on the fact that dermatology isnāt about the right serum to erase your face but rather how to properly address skin concerns. Wish I wouldāve known that years ago when I first started watching YouTube & got sucked in & now I have serums to last 20 lifetimes š©. Ya live & learn I suppose. Have a fabulous week, Dr. Dray šā¤
You’re right about the banana boat sunscreen works well and doesn’t sting as much as Neutrogena formulas!
Iāve been using the āmoroccan roseā Treehut shave oil for about a year and it smells heavenly! Also not super linger-y. :)
My sister had Addisonās disease, which turned into Gravesā disease, then she had to have radioactive iodine. Growing up, she had the TANNEST skin and I was always so jealous. When going through my issues with infertility (frequently having super early miscarriages) I found out that I was low on thyroid hormones⦠I guess it runs in the family. I find it so interesting that looking at the skin can help in diagnosis in so many disorders!
