My Aunt only uses the fragrance-free kind. I like it too.
There are a few jars at my grandmum”s house that looks “Victorian” in tin jars. One says Vaseline Cold cream.
My Grandma (Mom’sMum) used Ponds from age 16. Her skin was beautiful. She looked 60 when she left at 92.❤

In my personal opinion what I gather from this short is that hydrating diligently over one’s life will really help with the quality of your skin in your elder years. She’s beautiful! Unfortunately ponds cold cream breaks me out, but then again I haven’t tried it in many years. Everyone is so different, whatever works! ❤
Same! I wish I could use it. I haven’t tried it in a few years though. Last time I did it burn and gave me a rash and I broke out so bad. My skin was messed up for a few weeks.

I have used it but find it a little too greasy. I still use the old standbys, though, Noxema, Nivea, and Vaseline. There is a reason they have stood the test of time.
I love Noxzema. Just used some 20 minutes ago! From the age of 16 through 30ish, it was all I used.
Always loved the smell of Noxema!
My sister always used Noxema. She had beautiful skin. She died young though. I was allergic to it. It turned my skin beet red and burned.
Love Ponds and also Jergens. Ponds is better. I love putting in on like ladies in old TV shows! But my routine is retro anyway, robe curler, Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, Ponds. Love the old stuff😍
I love Ponds Cold Cream but it hasn’t been in my country for decades. Used it to remove stage make up during high school and noticed it improved my acne
I use it as the first step in my double cleanse routine. Inexpensive and it removes makeup throughly.
I think the reason so many people have a problem with Ponds Cold Cream is that they use too much and then have trouble removing it. A little goes a long way, and you can remove an entire face of makeup, including eye makeup and mascara of any type. Use a little and then remove with either a wet washcloth or large wet esthetician wipes. Then, follow up with a light wash using your facial cleanser before continuing with the rest of your facial routine. That’s how you avoid breakouts.

Mom always used Pond’s cold cream and always had smoothest skin even until she died at 67. Undertaker even came to me personally after her funeral and commented on her beautiful skin. I know that may sound a bit creepy, but he meant it as high praise. He was an expert and saw the good, bad and ugly of people’s bodies.

Pond’s Cold Cream was about all there was when I was young and I am 73 now. It is great for taking off makeup, especially eye makeup. And then like you said you use a wet rag afterward and just take it off and you feel clean but moisturized. From watching people who used it like my mom, I can assure you it does not have any firming agents in it and so you could get a fluffy soft look to your skin, so I would never use it as my only moisturizer. I would not leave it on.
I bought ponds for the first time in decades when I needed a way to clean my feet after I got old and couldn’t reach them in the shower. It’s a good cleanser. I still put it on my feet sometimes and then wash it off with a cold wash cloth. It really will remove some grime and I sure don’t care if my feet get soft and fluffy!!
It’s also great for shaving.
Ponds cold cream is my go to makeup remover. Nothing works better! My grandmother used it forever and her skin was absolutely beautiful.
I have been using Ponds Cold Cream since the 70’s to remove eye makeup – works amazing well on waterproof mascara!!
I LOVE this stuff. I just went back to it this summer. I have bought all the expensive makeup removal products including the balms and most bother my eyes. Ponds does not bother my eyes and it makes my skin super soft without feeling oily.
I have sensitive, dry skin and I loooove Pond’s Cold Cream! 🥰 It’s so moisturizing and soothing too!
My grandma used Ponds Cold cream – she was 84 but her skin was amazing – soft, supple and even toned. She looked 65 !
I’ve used it all my life. The best makeup remover and moisturizer and I have tried many brands and come back. I’m 72 years old and everyone thinks I’m younger. I buy the three pack 9.5 ounces on Amazon. Good value . I just can’t leave it !❤
Worked in long term care (nursing homes) for years. The ladies that definitely looked better than their age all had 2 things in common 1) they stayed out of the sun 2) they were dedicated cold cream users. Often times it was the only thing they used for cleaning and moisturizing. So what can we learn? We all need to stay out of the sun, do less aggressive “cleansing,” and make sure we moisturize.
My Mom is a year younger than this woman, & yes, I grew up watching her use Pond’s cold cream every morning. I’m not sure if she used it at night.
I agree. When I worked with the elderly I would ask the little old ladies with the beautiful skin what they used and they usually said vaseline!

My mother used Ponds and Oil of Ulan (Olay) for most of her life. As a redhead, she also stayed out of the sun and used a parasol/ Broad brimmed hat whenever she went outside. She was physically active, didn’t drink alcohol or smoke and seldom ate processed foods. She died at 92 with fabulous skin.
Those are some strong Filipina genes right there! My Lola passed at 91 with few wrinkles and my mother at 72 has none to speak of. Filipinos really age so beautifully!
So do we Germans! Both of my grandmothers had exceptionally perfect skin! My paternal grandparents NEVER really got wrinkles, their skin was so smooth. My paternal grandmother died at about 94 and she looked to be about 40 in her casket! No umdereye circles, no texture, NOTHING WRONG!!
My German grandparents don’t have a lot of wrinkles but they do have sun spots, we were farmers and were out in the sun a lot but overall, still fairly good skin!
