  1. Bummed you didn’t cover maybe the most common one? Migraine allodynia. Took decades of thinking my pony tail was too tight.😊 (edited when I got to the end and realized you didn’t cover it) About 60% of folks w migraine experience allodynia- very often on the scalp

    1. Another great Presentation, Dr D ! Liking the new “flip over” you’ve done with your hair today. Super stylin’ with the new dew! Thanks again, and catch ya tomorrow.

  2. Dr. Dray,
Albolene came out with a new cleansing balm and a face wash! I’d be curious to know your thoughts. They are currently being sold at CVS.

  3. I’ve always had a sensitive scalp and washing my hair and massaging my scalp cause a lot of pain. During covid I lost a lot of hair after leaving my afro hair natural for the first time in decades. So my scalp was dryer than normal and it felt like every hair was a needle constantly stabbing me. Just touching hair caused severe pain. I’m waiting for appointment to see a dermatologist about it. I’ve tried antifungal and antibacterial hair treatments and nothing helped. I’ve always had ingrowing hairs or a few hairs coming out of the same follicle. Which are also painful. I had shingles when I was in my teens. This video was so informative. Thank you Dr Dray.

  4. Your haircut looks great 😊. I actually just watched your SPF scalp & hair video since I got sunburnt on my scalp for the first time over the weekend 😭. Thank you always for your videos!

  5. I just cut 4 inches off my hair & was going to wait a while before cutting more, but seeing your new haircut inspired me to chop off another 3 inches this morning. It’s now about the same length as yours but it’s layered.

  6. I definitely experienced this! It definitely hurts! At first I was like why the heck is my hair hurting 🙃

  7. Thank you for this video Dr. Dray. I found this very informative. For the past year or so my mother-in-law has been dealing with scalp pain. She went to see a dermatologist who concluded that she needed to see a neurologist who then concluded that it was most likely a neuropathy. But the burning scalp syndrome kind of sounds similar to what she has. Thanks again!

  8. Hi Dr. Dray, what could I be dealing with when I have scalp pain, angular cheilitis, and vaginal itch all at the same time?

  9. Is that burning scalp syndrome like a sore crown when moving the hair there? Hy hair gets really oily within a day or two, and I noticed it only happens when I haven’t washed it for a couple of days. As soon as I wash it, it’s fine the next day

    1. You know that it’s ok to wash your hair every single day right? I was having the same problem and I noticed that as soon as I washed my hair it was gone so, I stared washing my hair every single day and my life changed. I’m super happy 😃. I even use a hand brush and I Massage my scalp every single day. The change on my scalp and my hair it’s amazing.

    2. This happened to me!!! I lost some hair and if I moved my hair it hurt so bad…it was like my scalp was sore. I saw two dermatologist and they couldn’t figure it out. At the time I had been only washing my hair every 3 days, to keep my color better. This was so scary!!!!Anyway, long story short…I started washing everyday and that worked!!! Some people can wash hair less some of us can’t.

  10. Very informative video! Your haircut looks great, Dr Dray! Mine is a similar length and I love it because it’s long enough to throw in a clip or ponytail, but short enough that it doesn’t feel too heavy.

  11. Off topic: I notice a glow up moment going on for you. Beautiful as always, and notice how you’ve shined a little extra lately. Love that for you. Radiating from the inside and out. Very inspiring too.

  12. Great video on a topic rarely discussed! I get scalp pain with my migraine attacks, & unfortunately, it’s just one more miserable symptom to add to the plethora of symptoms (outside of headache) that come with migraine. I’ve noticed that I usually get the scalp pain on the top & the crown areas of my head with migraine, but I’m sure it probably varies from person to person regarding location. 🤕

  13. Hi! Going off this topic, I would love to learn more about red ear syndrome/ear sensitivity. Even with sunscreen and long hair, ears can get super red and warm at the end of the day!

  14. I honestly didn’t even know this was a condition. Thanks so much for enlightening me. It sounds miserable. As always, you’ve taught me something new. Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a beautiful evening. 💖

  15. Your new hairstyle looks very pretty on you. Lots of volume. I wore human hair extensions for several years, non-stop. I lost a ton of hair as a result. It grew back eventually, but not as thick as it had been prior. It took a while to get used to having much less hair once they were out, but I would never go back to them. Even with the hair loss, being able to wash my hair quickly and without all the fuss again made it worth it.

  16. Love this video! Dr. Dray, another reason one may have a sensitive scalp is from hard water or chlorine!! My derm missed this when I was having issues for over a year. After we got a water softener and filtration system, my hair and scalp are so much better! I wish this was easier information to find. Can you comment on this? Thank you!

  17. I was recently diagnosed with scalp dysesthesia. My dermatologist did a biopsy and said I had telogen effluvium also. The pain is there constantly but it was helped with medication for nerve pain. I wish the pain would just go away but this was an interesting condition to learn about

  18. Look at that bounce in your hair !! I bet it’s so much easier for you to handle. It looks so darn healthy and thicker 👍🏼. Thanks for all you do 🤩. Oh….and I had Shingles at the age of 15……absolutely excruciating pain ! I still have the scars and I’m now 77. 👵🏼👵🏼

  19. Very interesting, Dr. Dray. My best friend recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. About two weeks after starting chemotherapy, she experienced scalp pain which immediately proceeded hair loss. It’s helpful for her to know there is a clinical reason for what she is experiencing. Informative and supportive, as always. Can you suggest how one might care for their scalp after hair loss due to chemo and while wearing wigs, etc. Thank you. ❤
