Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
Mine was definitely due to inflammation proceeded by loss 😢
not pleasant to go through
How did you fix this?
Increasing the frequency of hair washing can stop scalp Tenderness
I did not know that!
@itchysheets1222 😇
Hello & Happy Thursday, Dr. Dray❤
Morning!
For those who have scalp tenderness more around the temples then giant cell arteritis is something to be knowledgeable about
“Root” cause.
High Ponytail Pain, ugh 😩
That and hair clips to hold buns. 😢
This is so informative! This happens to me once in awhile and it’s such a weird feeling
Same here.
My hair hurt horribly when I started chemotherapy after bi lateral mastectomy. I asked my neighbor to cut my hair off and shave my head. She cried, I was relieved. My hair has grown back, but taking meds to keep me in menopause is not fun. My hair is thin now 😢
I notice I can go about 3 days between washes before my hair starts to hurt. I’m glad to see it talked about & it’s common
Immediately clicked on this. Ever since I was a kid I would have periods of scalp pain. I would tell people my hair hurt and they were like “that’s impossible. Hair can’t hurt” and I was just like 🤷♀️ “I don’t know how else to explain it”
This is a great video. I suffer from hair pain a lot. It is very frustrating. I get awful headaches due to it. I have been having excessive hair loss and have a bump on top of my head. Washing my hair does relieve it.
I thought I was the only one. I do not have a greasy scalp, in fact I think I have a dry scalp, but no dandruff. My hair stylists tells me there is no irritation, redness or issues, it looks very healthy. I never wear my hair up or any kind of tight style. On occasion, a spot on my scalp will be very tender and sometimes itch. I actually went and got the shingles vaccine.
Thank you for this video!!!
Do you have a wef, extensions? If you salon doesnt use the full 10 minutes to use lucacide, barberide fungal sanitation and brushes to the next client and proper sanitation time isnt carried out, you could be getting an skin issue from unclean brushes, clip, comb, shears, towels, haircutting cape. Every state has protocols, some states enforce disinfecting and some only enforce sanitizing
Thank you so much for covering this topic. I get hair hurt whenever I do workout with my glasses on, I always thought it was due to the legs of glasses.
Oh my gosh…. I thought this was just a “me “, problem. Scalp is so tender! Did have miserable case of shingles a few years ago.
Thank you.❤️💕❤️
This is a great question and I never considered looking it up online
Any salon or Great Clips, Sport clips type places create a dangerous environment when they lush their stylists to cut hair under 17 minutes and 20 mins then keep the transition time for bringing in the new client is pushed to keep under 4 mins… this is where the problem is, that’s not enough time for the blade cleaner, clippercide to sanitize all shears, clips, cape, combs, clippers, trimmers etc and skin issues get transferred to other clients very easily.
I earned my state board license to do hair. It worries me when I see corporations take short cuts with sanitation. Barbicide is used to soak clipper guards, combs, clips, brushes etc… but if the ratio of barbicide to water is not measured exactly, then the solution is weak and not sanitizing. It bothered me to see just how many lice incidents happened at Sport Clips places. I witnessed 1st hand
That makes sense. I only have my hair cut once a year and ALWAYS the first appointment of the day. (Teeth cleaning twice a year but always the FIRST patient of the day.)
There are a lot of gross people out there, plus the risk of vaccine shedding.
@@Claudialupperocd. Vaccine shedding is a myth. The Covid vaccine especially because it’s not a “live vaccine.”
Stay off of Fox News. It has rotted your brain.
Omg! So needed this video !!! My scalp hurt since i got covid 1&half year ago…i can no longer tie my hair in bun or pony tail 😫 it freaken hurt every day it’s literal hell. I washed my daily for the last 20 years. After a warm shower it does elevate the pain.
I been wearing my hair in a high bun daily for 24 years…i don’t feel myself without them now. 😟
Thanks again, Dr. Dray- Now I know the reason for the rare but v. painful scalp pain. FYI- My hair never gets oily, even when I go for a month without shampooing-winter only. I have thick, curly hair & don’t use pomades, sprays etc., just a small dollop of conditioner from mid length to end. Every 3 months I use Redken’s full array of bond line, from preconditioner to leave-in treatment.
Click on this is quick as I could I thought it was only me thank you Dr Dray
