Hello dr dray
As a doctor could you please explain bloating?( since you workout everyday and seem perfectly fit physically) It’s been a great self esteem issue for me recently
I have a video on facial bloat
Happy Monday! I use mandelic acid and occasionally lactic acid as it certainly helps to slough off the layer of dead cells and create a smoother appearance.
Happy Monday! Thanks for sharing
I’ve had good luck with Mandelic Acid from the ordinary. Just once a week but it hasn’t bothered my super sensitive skin. Been scared to try the others…
Cute dress 💙 For anyone trying, here’s my experience. I tried Peach and Lilly AHA, too strong. I’ve tried Derm -e overnight AHA and it was more gentle. I’ve tried Neostrada bionic PHA and irritated. The Peach Slices face wash with Salylic acid is a dream. Not sure if it helps the same way for sun spots and hydration but after watching skin care for 40’s I’ve been trying. Also maybe BA, PHA or AHA not for me.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼

I am a big AHA fan but a little wary since I started using tretinoin. This is, as usual, timely! 💜💜💜
@Dr Dray Do you know much about the genetics of moles? Why is it that unrelated people get a mole above one eyebrow, or siblings can have moles in the same spot.
I find my older dry tret skin can tolerate lactic acid.
After 2 years of Tret., I can finally tolerate lactic acid. Just introduced lactic last week so this video was perfectly timed. I swear, Dr. Dray is clairvoyant.
☝️☝️🎁☝️Thanks for being an active subscriber💕💕,you have been selected among my giveaway winners kindly send me a direct on telegram to the info above ☝️☝️to claim your prize 🎁.
@Michelle S Maybe/have you tried lactic acid its more moisturising than glycolic and bigger in molecular size so it should have some degree of being gentler.
Great acids! The Ordinary has nice lactic and glycolic acids…I started with the 10% lactic and worked up to the 20%. You’re hair is looking great Dr. Dray, love the length!
I am using their niacinamide and mandelic acid. They do have good products.
Where did you buy 20%
@William K The Ordinary has a 10% and a 20%
@Kelly M ohh
I always tried to remember Demodex mites as looking like tiny little Alligators under the microscope. It was just a weird way of me associating and remembering the different shapes and sizes of various mites. Thanks for another great vid, Dr. D! Thank you! See ya tomorrow
AmLactin was a bit irritating at the beginning, but I’m glad I continued using it, my skin is soo soft and has definitely improved the hyperpigmentation in my inner thighs and armpits, I swear by this product.
Thanks for the info, I can’t seem to stay consistent with the amlactin but now I need to get on it! Did you happen to notice any tightening of the skin?

Having an extra day off for a holiday (esp. if it’s a long weekend) is a good time to try a new product if you are just staying around home. It’s also an opportune time to remove your nail polish for a few days and nourish your hands & nails…maybe pop on some cotton gloves as well.
Btw, Also a fan of the pink tennis dress 🎾 . I think Dr Dray should invest in a sky blue one too 👗.
To those who have a holiday today…enjoy!

Hope you have a great week!
The Eucerin rough and bumpy lotion has been a holy grail on my body, and it’s been helpful with my grandma’s foot calluses. I use an AHA serum 2x a week, but I tend to like exfoliating serums that have both AHA and BHA in it to get the best of both. I like the Good Molecules serum, but I have experienced over-exfoliation with it when I used it more than 2x a week. Right now I’m alternating between Hyram’s mandelic serum and the Peach and Lily power cocktail serum, and they’ve been really nice and gentle yet effective.
Do you use the eucerin rough and bumpy on your face?
Thanks for this video Dr. Dray ☺️
On this topic, what do you think will give better results overall: use a weak AHA formula daily or a stronger formula weekly?
Also, which AHA has better outcome on what regards collagen production: glycolic or lactic?
Many thanks! 🙂
Glycolic acid has a smaller molecule size than lactic acid, meaning it will go deeper in the skin and will be more likely to enhance collagen production. Just make sure that your glycolic acid product is acidic enough to drive the product deep into your skin. I always look for a product that has a noticeable acid tingle. A good strong product that I use is Organys 20% peel serum, from Amazon. I use it several times a week as a leave on toner. If that is too stong for you the Alpha Skin Care serum that Dr. Dray recommends is a great alternative that I have tried.
I had your first question in mind too! Especially in regards to PIH.
These are really great questions, and I have had the same questions in mind.
But from what I have researched, it appears that Glycolic Acid in concentrations at or above 10% help produce collagen….but it has to be 10% or higher.
Helloooo I’m so glad you shot this video, thank you!
I’ve been wondering if I can use it with tretinoin. I’ve been using it on different nights
1st night Mandelic Acid (with a mix of salicylic acid)
2nd night tretinoin
3rd night just rest
(originally i had no AHA/BHA, and I would use tretinoin every other night, so I can use up whatever products from before.. trying to simplify my routine)
mornings vitaminc c -> sunscreen
have used up all my eye cream which I am happy, and I haven’t found the need to use it really.
I just wonder if AHA/BHA is necessary if ultimately I will build up to use tretinoin every night..? I definitely bought it on a whim cuz I was breaking out horribly and tretinoin wasn’t working… but then my stress pimple/acne cleared up before I even started using it =.= bad decision on my part..
Thank you so much for your videos, I’ve learned so much!
The Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment is a good one with both lactic & glycolic. It also has salicylic acid. Only $6. I used to love the glow I got with Good Genes from Sunday Riley but its way expensive. The good molecules is a good alternative
Thank you Dr Dray for this great video. I have been using the Alpha brand AHA for a number of years. I use this in the morning alternating with my Vitamin C from Timeless. Vitamin C 5 days a week, and the Alpha AHA 2 days a week. Wondering if I should be using the AHA more often? Again, thank you for this informative video!
Can you make a video on all the little “critters” that grow (sometimes thrive!🙃) on the skin? For example, I get confused between malesezia yeast, demodex mites, staph aurelias, etc. how can we figure out if we’re overburdened with this, ask our derm to test for it, and how it shows up as overgrowth on the skin? Can you have overgrowth of all? What’s the best one to target first?
Love your videos and this community. I purchased the ordinary glycolic acid 7% toner about a month or 2 back but stopped using it on my face because I have seen some videos about them being bad for darker skin / Indian skin. I have been using it on my legs and knees for bumpy skin and they work like a charm. Is it safe to use on the face for dark skin tone?
I’ve been in alpha, beta hydroxy acid user since my 20s and I’m 50. Alpha skin care has never disappointed and I’m now appreciating CeraVe as a line more with Retin-A (which I’ve used since my mid-40s). Great video as always!
Alpha Skincare is so underrated but they have great products.
Wow! I’ve know for a long time how good AHA’s are for the skin but never knew about their use for the nails!
Yes, sometimes we have read/heard of ingredients other benefits before, but just need a reminder from Dr Dray. I was using lotions with urea for my nails, but I will now add AHAs too.
👱♀️❤
My 72yo mom started using a glycolic acid serum from Loreal and she’s noticed her skin is much smoother. Thank you for breaking it down!! I’ve used the Paula’s Choice 8% AHA gel exfoliant and liked it but after this video I want to try the cerave!! I’ve watched you for a couple of years and my skin has definitely improved! Thanks Dr. Dray!❤💯

I’d love to see you discuss facial steaming. Are there benefits? How about for different skin types/acne? Thanks!
Good question. I sauna 6 days a week for 15 minutes each time, and my skin looks so good after. I always wondered about facial steaming.
Glycolic acid is my favorite active. It produces faster results than retinoids. I always look for products that give me an acid tingle. I love the Alpha Skin Care serum, although I have graduated to Organys 20% glycolic acid serum (more of a toner, though) several times a week.
I may try retinol again, but I have had products before that either disappointed me or made me raw (Differin). Right now I am using ascorbic and glycolic acids in my skincare to excellent results, but I think I can get away with trying retinol again. I’ll just use vitamin c in the morning, and retinol or glycolic acid at night.
Thanks to all that free time I had from the covid lock down, and Dr. Dray, I now consider myself an armchair dermatologist.
What glycolic acid percentage did you start with?
