Thank you :) I don’t even sweat….it takes a lot for me to sweat😳 my mom always said “it’s not good to not sweat”
Don’t know if this is true because, you know, the internet, but I saw a thing that said the fitter you are the faster you sweat, don’t know if it’s true though
thanks for watching
Same. I overheat like crazy because of it and have real problems with temperatures over 22 degrees Celsius
I’ve never been a big “sweater” either. Maybe in my armpits but mostly my face would just get red. Cross country/mid distance track runner competitively back in the day-maybe the reason why I was mediocre due to this inefficiency….
@Keekee Jenkins sameeeee
Happy Friday! These myths may help advise me on my backpacking adventure this spring! I have been watching your travel tip videos since I am planning a cross country road trip this spring to the National Parks. However, I have a concern that I am not sure has been addressed. I will be leaving my bags in the trunk (sometimes for several days). I wonder if there are skin care items that may not travel well in these conditions. I appreciate any tips that you may be adle to provide in a future video if you think this is a worthwhile topic.
@Whitney Brown Happy Friday to you! Rainy day here, so nice to have such a happy sunshine greeting from you!
Happy Friday!! Have an Amazing Day, and Weekend!!🫠🖐
@Jackie Marsh You too! Thank you!!
i dont recommend storing skincare at extremes of temperature
@Dr Dray Thank you!
Happy friday dr dray…🧡 Such an informational video❣️ just a quick question… What should we do to protect our skin from pollution??? What product should be used, can you make video on this???
I think it’s mentioned in a few of her videos?
She’s definitely mentioned it in videos and has a video, is anti-pollution skin care a gimmick?
cleansing at the end of the day may help,
Hi Dr. Dray. Question re hyperhydrosis: Do patients who suffer from depression have a greater propensity for hyperhydrosis? This has been my case throughout my life. I always felt that my excessive sweating was psychologically driven, because it tends to occur during feelings of anxiety or nervousness. But it is abnormally excessive and has always been problematic for me. I’ve had my ways of dealing with it.
Greetings Fran Ameri hope u r well n Happy Friday😀👍💜….
Anecdotally, all I have to do is feel my husbands palms after watching something or discussing something to know if he’s experiencing a heightened emotion of either anxiety or excitement – and all I have to do is ask him to clarify which one and why. It’s proven to be a very effective communication tool. 😂😂

Thanks for this! I break out when I workout for some reason & its so frustrating. If I don’t workout, no breaking out 😒 not sure what to do!
@Kas873 wow thanks! That does make sense, yes I can definitely between machines splash my face. I’m gonna try it starting today & see what happens! It’s only my face oddly, even though I sweat other places it’s the only one that causes break out. I do wash my face before the gym & I never wear makeup so..I hope this’ll be the solution. 😊
@Momo Fuku Doodoo Windu I also wash my face right before & after, but it seems to be the 1.5 hrs that I’m there & not rinsing sweat off night could be the culprit. Idk!
@Courtney A. I hope so too!! Anything you can do to keep the sweat from lingering on the skin should help lessen the breakouts. Good luck!!
@Courtney A. yeah maybe give that a try? You could bring one of those microfiber towels with you and wipe off your face throughout so the sweat isn’t stagnant? 😊
Could also try spritzing with the Skinsmart hypochlorous spray Dr Dray has recommended before
On a personal level at the highest level of physical training I ever did I would sweat heavy within 10-15 minutes of exercise. After balancing my autonomic nervous system between sympathetic and parasympathetic I don’t remotely sweat the same as in the past and now able to be comfortable in a temperature higher than before. SYMPATHETIC DOMINANCE a condition where the body tends to lean to fight flight continuously which reduces the ability for the body to heal when resting along with many other things not good. It is extremely common and totally overlooked but 100% valid. I wrote a novel pardon me! ☕️🤠👍🏻
I don’t know I’ve exercise regularly for years and sweat like I always did. Some days I can sweet doing yoga and if it’s really hot, with stretching. It doesn’t go away it’s within me😂
@denise eldred a exercise taught to me called the hummingbird that involves doing 4 or 5 things at same time in a specific posture. It only takes a total of 5-6 minutes spread out over the whole day. After a month straight of doing it someone will surely notice a difference. I can’t link anything here if will be removed.
@Giulia M doing yoga doesn’t eliminate the possibility of sympathetic dominance! Heart rate variability test and some other methods are used to determine it!
@Giulia M what’s really crazy I’ve been training since 12 or 13 years old and when I balanced my autonomic nervous system my insides felt like it all let go and I realized I was the other way over 3 decades! 😂 I had nothing to compare it to up to that point! I’ve probably told several thousand people.
Sounds intriguing. Never heard of this. Happy Friday, Uncle Charlie! I hope you had a beautiful day. Peace, blessings and joy to you. 🕊🙏☕
Hey, Dr. Dray, question. My husband and I are avid sauna users, multiple times a week, between 30 to 60 minutes, and we have noticed an increase in sweating for everyday tasks more than ever. My husband sweats profusely now throughout the day, outside of sauna and exercise periods… we are wondering if sauna usage can create an artificial hyperhydrosis?
Hearing this assures me, because you confirm there are some people who can’t sweat easily. This gives me big problems in the spring and summer, and when I exercise (every day, I am an active dancer) I need a cool room with no heating, 18 degrees Celsius tops. I overheat though, my blood pressure goes down rapidly and start feeling faint. At times I manage to sweat, mostly when I’m ill. Is there a way to fix this. I had to stop dancing on studios due to their heating and that makes me so sad.
You are so articulate and intelligent. I never thought I could watch a dermatologist YouTube channel every single day but I do and I love it! I have learned so much from you and you have changed so many of my skin care and lifestyle have it. Thank you!
thanks for watching
I used to have craniofacial hyperhydrosis. After changing my diet I don’t sweat nearly as much. I think processed foods increases how much you sweat. Eat more Whole Foods and vegetables. Cut the sodium (watch the salt) STOP eating fried food!! Helped a lot. I’m not saying it will work for everyone but that’s my experience.
I’m sweating all the time. Specially when I’m doing something that it requires to be done fast. It’s embarrassing to be sweating all the time. My face is dripping and people always asking, why are you sweating??? People always telling me, that’s why you’re skinny because you sweat so much. I just hate it. I wish I knew how to stop it. I only sweat on my face arms and neck. Maybe other parts of my body and I don’t notice.
Wow Andrea… I recently joined a gym that’s super air-conditioned, & was actually wondering if I was missing out on anything by not sweating profusely while working out. Now I don’t have to worry.. thanks! 🙂
Thank you! As a baby boomer working out in the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s, the mantra was always lots of sweat = great workouts! So, doing high impact aerobics & lifting weights, I didn’t think I was working hard enough if I wasn’t drenched in sweat. At my age now, I can’t workout at that intensity. So good to know to get rid of those old thoughts that I need to work harder & push myself beyond my limits. Thank you! New mantra in my head❤
Always learn so much from you, Dr. Dray!
Thank you for debunking all of these myths. When I was younger my parents used to think they could make themselves better faster from a cold or flu by making themselves sweat. Glad that I now know without a doubt that none of that works.
Not even a minute into this video and I’ve already learned some useful information. I didn’t know dermatologists treat sweating conditions. I have hyperhydrosis and never saw anyone about it. Just been treating myself with sweatblock. Need to remember to mention it when I see my dermatologist in a few months…
Thank you, Dr Dray! You continually teach me new things. The wide range of knowledge you have is impressive to say the least!! Happy Friday! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a fabulous weekend!! 💗
Hi Mary!! Sounds Like You had a Nice Day!! I Wish You Could Get Some Sunshine, You’ve had Sooo Much Rain, for Sure!! I Had a Pretty Good Day Too!! Snow Flurries, Go Figure!! Severe Weather One Day, and Snow the Next!! Whew it Keeps a Person Guessing!! I Hope Your Evening Goes Perfect!! Let’s Fix Our Tea, and Cuddle Our Kitties, and Enjoy the Blessings of Our Home!! The Lord is Soo Good!! Sweet Dreams, and God Bless You Always my Sweet Friend!!🙏💕🐈🐈☕️☕️🫖❤💤🙏
The Lord is truly good. I’m so thankful and grateful every day to have a job, a roof over my head and and food. I know so many are struggling, especially with the rising cost of everything. I have my tea and three kitties sitting on the bed with me so all is well. This crazy weather is keeping us both on our toes! Sleep well and have sweet dreams. 😴💗
I inherited my head sweating from my mother. No one else seems to believe its a real problem. Also, I regulate my body temp by my feet like my mom, ie if my feet are hot, my body is too hot. I go bare foot to regulate my temps. :) 🦋🦋🦋
loved this video. as an acne suffer people always tell me these ridiculous things when i’m reality the sweat aggravates my acne and causes boils more easily on my legs and bottom :(
Hi Dr. Dray,
I would to ask you about the damages make-up can cause over the years.
We usually focus so much on using the good products with the perfect ingredients for our skin. In this process, we usually think that our skin will absorb “the good things”. Later on, we put makeup on, such as foundation, blushes, eye shadow, and so forth. We then forget that make-up also have ingredients, and that our skin will absorb those ingredients from our make-up too over the years as well as any other products for the skin. Make-up can then be counterproductive, especially if some ingredients in the make-up products cause dryness, itchiness and irritation, while other ingredients may be harmful using in the long term without any visible changes that could be seen on a regular day-to-day basis.
Which ingredients in make-up products should we stay away from? Which ingredients in make-up is good for the skin and which ingredients are bad for the skin? Should we stay away from make-up or can we use it all-year-around without any damages on the skin connected to the long-term use of make-up?
I think this is a topic that skin-care nerds usually forget about. Our skin will absorb the ingredients in make-up just as any other product applied to the skin.
I’m looking forward to see you cover this topic Dr. Dray.
Sincerely,
Sija
