What a great way to start my day with a video from Dr.Dray!
My skincare trend? Come on YouTube and watch skincare advice from the great doctor Dray. Thank you so much for suggesting Cerave it has changed my skin for the better! I am so grateful
Happy Monday
Good morning Dr Dray. I found you back when you had 5000 subscribers when I was searching for solutions for my dry skin. I’m 57 years old and thanks to years of following your advice my skin is beautiful.
Thanks for watching 💙
I am 52 & just spent 6 months of following Dr dray and genuinely learning what ingredients & formulations are most likely to be efficacious for me, which is honestly the only way to improve one’s skin. Trends are not only costly, they are highly unlikely to make a visible difference. I’ve already healed my barrier issues & TEWL and was able to cut my routine in half (cost & time). Without the good doctor, I never would have discovered that the incredibly affordable Gold Bond, a brand that I associate with shaq’s jock itch lol, was my hero brand for moisturizing from forehead to toes. Or eliminated my body odor & chronic armpit irritation with a $4 tube of benzoyl peroxide…
I rely on you to inform me of the latest skincare trends because I don’t have any social media (besides YouTube) so there’s no targeted skincare algorithm coming at me 😂
Thanks for watching
I’ve been doing a variation of this since a while before I got pregnant. The only way I didn’t get itchy was my slathering lotion on and the Vaseline and I’d sit like a dolphin for a few minutes. If i towel dried and waited to apply lotion I’d be itchy all day
👍🏼👍🏼
Dolphin 😅 I feel so tired after showering too and just have to sit there sometimes
Another TikTok trend? This will never end lol… so glad you can set us straight 💜💜💜
Thanks for watching
There’s always a new generation coming up that hasn’t heard yet what we all know. And they give it a new name 😂
so its basically just putting moisturizer on damp skin. Dr Dray has been preaching this for years. you are queen of “trends” before they start 😂
@Be REAL from what i’ve seen it’s very toxic. I never got on the whole tik tok train
@Be REAL mehh it’s honestly a good app. Scroll in it for 30 minutes at least for the algorithm to cater to your wants and it can be both educational and entertaining!
@Vasili I don’t have to “try everything out” to know it’s not good. That’s what followers do
@Euphrasie Polly a good app? That’s how much society has regressed in the last few years alone. Adults wasting their time on kiddi apps while their children get indoctr. and gro*med in schools around the clock but their regr. parents are too busy on ticki tocki. I’m getting more and more ashamed for this country and the ones who are supposed to be adults
@Be REAL it’s true that when you first join Tiktok you get some wild stuff but TikTok’s algorithm is outstanding at finding the content that you relate to. I’ve learned more on Tiktok in almost 3 years than I’ve learned on YouTube in the past 10. I mean, you’re on YouTube. They’ve done studies on how it takes a very small number of videos to get you to some extremist groups/creators. The internet is toxic just like anywhere humans are involved.
There’s actually a new trend I’ve seen come up — “Cloud skin”
It’s basically the re-emergence of matte skin being the preference. It’s not a huge deal at this point, but it seems like matte is back! Brands are gonna have to start reformulation their products soon too keep up, oof
@BeyondTheRain I’m in my 40s, and I feel like the dewy look always made me look older.
I hope not. Matte skin makes a lot of ppl look ashen. Especially women late 30s up.
It sounds like we’re headed back to the 80’s! Matte skin was big then.
It’s not a re-emergence though. They’re directing people towards matte skin to sell more products. Matte products never disappeared and dewy isn’t going anywhere. The newer matte products are supposed to be as lightweight as popular light foundations, which are usually dewy.
I have oily skin so this is good news to me lmao. I’m a little tired of skincare being advertised as “dewy” or “glowy”… I have plenty of dew already!😫
Tiktok: hey let’s take something people have already been doing for years, give it a trendy name and make it go viral like we invented it!
TikTok and skincare advice shouldn’t go hand in hand. Hopefully people will smarten up regarding these crazy trends /trending names on there. Thanks for sharing!💜
Most teens just don’t know any better tho so they believe all the crap they see on there
Considering the amount of hydration products I already use in my routine – 3 to 5 layers of essence toner, ampoule, hydrating serum, and then moisturizer – I guess I’ve been into this trend for years then?
Thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoyed the video? message that

Hi Dr Dray yet again a fancy new term for something most have done for years lol. I have extremely dry skin with both rosacea and eczema – my skin dehydrates very easily and can feel THIRSTY, despite using moisturiser. Hydrating toners/essences (hello Asian beauty, who has been using layers of hydrating products for eons) have really helped my skin feel more hydrated when trapped onto the skin by an occlusive product. Using these for the last few years has made a big difference for me, but you don’t need multiple different products and can instead just layer the one a few times before using the occlusive product ie moisturiser, balm or spf. There is a reason I have no interest in tik tock and this is no exception. Best wishes.

Same! What’re your favorite toners and essences? I have to be so careful with my rosacea and some of the Korean ones throw in so many fruit extracts I’m afraid to try them. I’ve had good luck with the hado labo hyaluronic gel in the gold tub but I’m curious what else might help. Thanks!
I have annoying combination skin that basically molts and flakes over winter. My dermatologist suggested petrolatum, which shocked me. I thought it would break me out but it didn’t. It works!

I’m molting too. Perfect word. I’ve had to vacuum my bedroom floor because it feels disgusting 🤢
I am shaking my head right now…This isn’t new – you’ve been teaching us this for a long time! ❤️
I never battled dry skin until perimenopause began. Now my skin is dry unless I drench it with hyaluronic acid and moisturizer. I always had oily skin growing up and well into my late 20’s/30’s. Your skin will do a 180 when you least expect it.
Yep that’s about when mine started
I’m in the same boat. I don’t get pimples anymore though, which I am loving lol
I can’t wait to hear the next trendy term for simply moisturizing your skin. Moisture sandwich, slugging, flooding. What’s next, refilling skin reservoirs?
😂
This is literally what I do anyway since about the first month I started skincare and tried cleansing a dry face vs a wet face with gel cleanser. Putting cleanser on a dry face makes the product not foam properly, and after that step, unless you’re wiping your face too hard with a face cloth, you should have damp skin due to the moisture content of every product you put on thereafter. So what exactly is anyone doing here that they weren’t doing before?

“Just because it’s trendy doesn’t mean it’s right for you” perfection Dr Dray.
Seems like the skin care trends are never ending, especially on Tik Tok. I don’t watch Tik Tok so I haven’t heard of this. I’d rather take my advice from a board certified dermatologist. You haven’t steered me wrong yet! Thanks for all you do, Dr Dray!! Happy Monday! Hope you have a relaxing evening. 💟
I NEVER thought I would have dry skin! I was your average, oily-skin kid and stayed oily until the age of 60 and then, BANG! Dry skin in certain spots and now, at 66, pretty well dry skin all over my body throughout our Canadian winter. Been following you for years. Love your content!
Pretty similar to the Korean “seven skin” method where you layer a hydrating toner up to seven times. I do it myself from time to time especially during the winter months when my skin is drier and it really helps.
