  1. Happy Sunday Dr Dray excited to be here. Thanks for sharing this important topic have a good night.

  2. Let’s talk about how to wash it off from your entire body if it’s a water-resistant sunscreen 😭

    1. From her past pm routine, she just used a body oil to remove it. In general, most facial cleaners and body soaps should work. I use the la roche posay foaming cleanser on my face and body.

    2. I rub mineral oil all over and then wash with dawn (except not on my face). Yes, I mean dawn dish soap. I just use a couple drops on a loofah. That’s honestly the only way I can get it off completely in a quick manner. It’s like double cleansing. The oil breaks up the sunscreen before washing it away with the soap. But I only use dawn dish soap when I use Solrx sunscreen, which is the most water resistant sunscreen that’s out there. If I’m using any other brands of water resistant sunscreen, I just use mineral oil, then wash with my regular body wash. Works like a charm for the past several years.

  3. An ounce is basically the size most sunscreens are sold in! They really need to up the size and lower the prices!

  4. Hi Dr. Dray I just put it on my face neck and hands I hate sunbathing I always feel there’s something I could be doing than lying here lol.

  5. Honestly, this makes me think I’m using way too much sunscreen…I roughly use a shot glass for my face, ears, neck, and exposed chest and hands…

  6. I go for the large size sunscreens; You know youre going yo use it up. 3 oz. for Australian Gold SPF 50 for my face, neck and chest/decollete areas. 8 oz. for Equate(WalMart house brand) SPF 30 for the rest of my body. These take me about 2 months to use up, with daily use. Thanks Dr Drea!

  7. I was out today in the 100 degree Houston late afternoon and I think I used about 1/4 cup. No exaggeration! I’m very fair and burn in just a few minutes. This was the first time I was completely protected for the 30 minutes I was outside.

  8. If only sunscreens would stop increasing in price. Not only that, they’re coming with less and less product.

  9. A few years ago my sister asked me why I need so long to put sunscreen on & why I use so much. I probably didn’t even use enough back then. My skin is just so sun-sensitive that if miss a spot, I’m gonna get sunburned even if I’m just in the sun for like 30 mins šŸ˜‚ But well, wearing sun protection only has benefits imo.

  10. An 8 oz bottle lasts me 7 or 8 applications. And since we are supposed to reapply every 2 hours when not sweating/swimming, or every 40-80 minutes if we’re sweaty/swimming, that bottle lasts me no more than 2 days in the summer. That’s why I just stick to the cheaper drug stores ones now. I left a shot glass in my daughter’s restroom near her sunscreen and tell her to fill it up to the top, and that’s how much sunscreen she needs to be using, even if she’s just going to be lounging in the backyard, and even if it’s later in the afternoon. It has taught her how to be more thorough in sunscreen application.

  11. Better use physical sun protections, like Upf clothing at this point. Less expensive and no reapplication need. I hope there could be more clothing
    options.

    1. Also, less polution for the beaches. If everyone truly applied sunscreen the proper way, beach polution would likely jump up significantly
