  1. Just think, if it were that simple then any time any person drank water we would have clear skin 🤷🏽‍♂️

  2. I mean if someone was getting stress rashes BECAUSE of dehydration or low blood sugar stressing the overall bodily system, THEN drinking some water or eating a complex carb might help because the baseline stress levels would resolve, but that’s not going to even happen to everyone.

  3. 😂😂😂 people use to tell me that when I was a teenager and it doesn’t clear my acne, my acne was treated when I used adapalene on it.

  4. Thank you Dr Dray. I get so frustrated hearing, just drink more water. I love water. I drink it all the time. Always have. I still have wrinkles

  5. Unsolicited advice almost always comes with an assumption that the person giving it has these profound ideas that the receiver was too stupid to try.. It’s likr that with depression & chronic illness, especially if it’s undiagnosed.

Not to mention the giver of said “advice” is uncomfortable that there’s a legitimate problem aka something ‘negative,’ and you ‘putting down their ideas’ you never asked for as if it’s about them. Okay, then dismiss yourself. Because this is reality, and that person has to deal with it.. Which is hard enough without you trying to throw anything at the problem because you’re uncomfortable.

Has to be much more difficult walking with all of the signs on your face.. Stay strong, acne sufferers. 💪 Remember, it can even be challenging for doctors with a wild amount of Education to help you w your acne. It is definitely not a “you” problem/ not doing enough. Keep going back to your Derm, even when you’re discouraged.. or find a new one. You deserve the help, & unfortunately it doesn’t always come easy. But you do deserve the care you need. Wishing you all the best in your skincare and self love journey ✨️💛✨️

If you think that additional content might help that journey, I personally find a lot of strength watching Kassandra Bankson. A fellow acne sufferer with education & experience as an esthetition, who wears her heart on her sleeve, promotes self-love, & celebrates positive transformation in all forms. ❤

  6. Drinking water is a great healthy habit, but it’s not a cure-all. Especially not for acne. What works for people’s acne is so individualized

  7. I’m always positive but I agree with you . I have severe cystic acne and drinking water does help but I also have to address other areas of my life.

    1. I had cystic acne in my 20s to 40s. It did help to stop using detergents with strong fragrance and trade out clean pillow cases like once every 5 days. But hormones be hormoning, causing extra oil and overreactive stress responses. My Grandma had the same, so it may also be genetic. I wish you soothing comfort and chilled out pores.

  8. “just do this, and you’ll be cured!” No Mary, thats not how this works. The niaces and conplexities are exactly why we have doctors.

  9. My “health” teacher in high school refused to let us use chapstick or lotion in class because if we drank enough water, we wouldn’t need it 🙃

    1. That’s the problem with this type of advice, like more water because of skin problems or more workout because of depression. Both are actually working and are worth a try. But they’re working as a part of complex approach and changing only one thing is almost never enough. And in most cases the receiver of advice already tried it

  10. I used to always get unsolicited advice for acne, one person was like oh you should use aloe vera. Honestly not bad advice but ppl need to stop doing it unsolicited advice
