    1. @Vicky Vkusnyatina relax. You’re trying to act like she doesn’t have hundreds of videos giving skincare tips that are OTC

    2. @butterfly be most people without insurance don’t have a regular GP, unfortunately. I went years without one. Also, even a visit to a family doctor, with prescriptions included is gonna be pretty pricey if you’re uninsured or underinsured.

    3. There are clinics. There are pop up clinics. The Health Dept. Primary Care Physician. VET – just kidding.
I know what it’s like to be without. Our Dr. was whoever we could see in the basement of the Projects. If you want it, and are able, make it happen.

    1. Just a note that benzoyl peroxide is not stable with tretinoin so if you use it in the same routine it may be too irritating

    2. @_EMPTY_ It’s ok to use at separate times. It’s just not good together at the same time on the skin. For people with bad acne, it is best to stick to do it this way. Using the wash version also cuts down on irritation from using it as a leave on

  1. As a 55 year old woman, I started getting pimples…UGH. but I go to Derm and watch all of your videos my skin has never looked better. You’re Amazing!
    Thanks, Love

  2. For women with hormonal acne, combining my tretinoin with azaleic acid and oral spironolactone has been a godsend. Particularly the spiro, and it’s not expensive with insurance. A 3 month supply was about $14.

    1. @Mahi yes, it is sometimes prescribed for that, it’s also a potassium sparing diuretic. But it’s very commonly prescribed off label for both hormonal acne, and symptoms of PCOS. Only women can take it because it has the effect of making your body much less sensitive to androgenic hormones. Those hormones are often responsible for acne, oily skin, female pattern hair loss, issues with menstruation, and a whole host of other things. I took it to manage PCOS related problems, which includes my acne, and it has been so helpful. Sorry for the novel, I just thought the information may be helpful to someone who runs across it. Dr. Dray actually has a couple of videos on the topic herself.

  3. I had hormonal acne randomly in my mid thirties I tried everything until I came across a video on topical Retinoids. I talked to my provider who wanted to put me on spironolactone and tretinoin plus a benzoyl peroxide face wash. I thought it was aggressive for a first attempt at an prescription treatment plus I really didn’t want to take pharmaceuticals that alter my hormones. So I requested to opt out of the spironolactone and just start by trying the benzoyl peroxide face wash with 0.025 tretinoin. It worked like magic! So much so that after I finished my first tube I requested to increase to the 0.05 which I currently use. I’m loving the results so far!
