Itโs already over 100F over here in south Texas. I need this video- thank you!

Ooh, I’m early for once! I think this year’s heat is going to be absolutely brutal.
Stay safe
@@DrDrayzdayHi Dr. Dray, Iโve been watching your videos for years and I left social media pre pandemic.
Is a book written by you a possibility?
Thank you for any replies!

Yay! โ Weโre in a season that leaves Dr Dray putting out a video on skincare for hot weather! But I live in Minnesota. So I suspect my southern friends look at us being weenies about the heat in Minnesota the same way we giggle when people say 32 degrees above zero is cold. :)
This is so true ๐ I’m in Northern MN, it was 40 when I got up this morning. It’s 65 right now, that’s enough summer for me ๐ฌ
@@NotImpressed22 LOL ๐
๐๐๐๐
I was born and raised in the Minneapolis area, moved to Phoenix in my 40s. I get it, from both extremes ๐
โ@@NotImpressed22 burr ….. from MN, moved to AZ ๐
I live in PA, on hot days Iโll be out at break of dawn to do my intervals. Here, that is the coolest temps of the day. Such a helpful video!
โThermoregulatoryโ ๐ You go, Dr. Dray!!!! I havenโt heard that banger since 1st year post grad!! I can always count on you to refresh & stimulate this brain of mine ๐๐๐ซถ
I get side eye for wearing my spf Baleaf jacket in the summer! It keeps me cool and safe from UV ๐ Thank you!!
I like being in the shade ๐ ๐๐๐ฅค Those days of the waves touching our feet and the sand being our seat isn’t safe anymore ๐Take care everyone ๐น
Thanks for all the great tips. Mid way through the video you mentioned using an anti dandruff shampoo with zinc to deal with folliculitis. BEWARE: Head & Shoulders w/ pyrithione zinc contains Methylisothiazolinone. This chemical is often problematic to people, like myself with sensitive skin and can cause severe rashes. I used to use this product to deal with scalp folliculitis, but the shampoo made the issue worse because of this chemical. It wasn’t until I did skin testing at my Derm that I realized I am extremely allergic to this chemical.
Woaw, thanks for sharing this!! I got super bad reactions using Head & Shoulders and I couldnโt figure out what Iโm allergic to for the longest time !! Today the mystery is solved ! ๐๐๐
I had a bad reaction to head and shoulders after using them for years. Was a horrid burning rash with bumps. I even went back to Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo and also had a horrid reaction with a hot bumpy painful rash.
I now use Lush Fairly traded honey (11 years) and never had a reaction and no dandruff.
@@elf7355 You may be sensitive to Methylisothiazolinone. A lot of people are. It really surprising H&S would use this chemical in its products considering their product is supposed to help your skin issues
@@MuslimahInSolace It could be Methylisothiazolinone. To find out you would have to be tested by a Derm. Regardless, probably best to avoid harsh chemicals and stick with shampoo that has natural ingredients for more sensitive skin.
Thank you for all this valuable information Dr. Dray. I made it to and from the shore unscathed, no sunburn. Yay!
The timing of this is on spot. Been looking for solutions to these heat-related rashes for a few days now. Thank you, doctor!
Thank you for the info, Dr Dray! Work in yard in evening . Staying hydrated.
Thank you so much! The heat is challenging!
My main issues are the even though my skin is protected with sunscreen (SPF 70+ reapplied religiously), my Melasma and Rosacea act up so much from the heat alone.
My face itches so so much because of sweating. And it gets raw just from dabbing off the sweat. I can’t even rub in the skincare in summers. Only max 2-3 products only dabbing. Anything more and skin will irritate even by the serums etc. ๐ข๐ข๐ข๐ข
Thank you Dr. Dray ! I appreciate as a social worker you discussing how the heat affects those who take certain psychotropic medications. Here in New York, I have been ready since March. Thanks to you —I am stocked up on sunscreen, sun -glasses, UPF 50 gloves and baseball caps. Last year, I even purchased some long sleeve polo shirts from Coolibar ( Great, comfortable material) Have a great day !
Agreed! I wear Full Hijab including Abaya and underneath I wear cotton long sleeved loose Ts and Hareem trousers and people side eye me and make comments.
But it is much cooler my skin doesn’t get hot. Even my head stays cool. And the cotton wicks away sweat.
As someone who didn’t wear Hijab before I know the difference and it is massive. So much more comfortable.
๐๐๐๐๐ yah right, keep telling yourself that๐๐ I bet you wanna take almost everything off. I bet your vit d is really low and I bet you sweat and smell like crap๐๐๐๐
Yep. The best protection from the sun.
I’m in Phoenix Arizona and it’s already 106 here. But my skin is already looking better, because I followed your advice to use 50 spf. I was using 30 spf but it wasn’t high enough. Thank you Doctor!โค
thanks for this video Dr. Dray! I struggled with intertrigo my whole life until I found your channel. Now I use my hair dryer (LOL) after showers to make sure Iโm totally dry and apply the Walgreens brand โmoisture barrier ointmentโ. Works like a charm and so affordable!
Just in time for the heat and humidity that has already started in my area. I’m not a fan at all. I’m a Fall and Winter girl for sure! My skin thanks you, Dr Dray. Happy Thursday!! I hope you have a lovely evening. ๐
It feels like you’re the only dermat to follow on YT. I like your no fluff approach!
