That fire alarm situation sounds like a continuous nightmare! I don’t know how you adapt but kudos for keeping your sanity and humor about it.
Pro tip: when the fire alarm goes off in your building, put a piece of painters tape over the alarm speaker in your unit.
Amazingly it cuts the volume to about 1/3 of the original screeching volume so your ears don’t hurt.
