Nikki is the reason why I fell in love with makeup all over again. At one point in my life I started dreading doing makeup, it was a chore I really, REALLY didn’t want to do. Due to certain life events that hit me I was depressed and empty, so everything I did, including makeup, I did half-heartedly. When I regained confidence and joy back in my life, I wanted to do makeup properly, but I realized I have no idea how. For pretty much my whole life it was a chore I did as fast as I could – there was no artistry in my application. I had no idea about colors, proper application techniques, highlighting good parts vs correcting issued, … I had no idea how to make my features come through. Someway, somehow I stumbled upon her channel. Watching her videos and soaking up her calm energy and immense knowledge she provides have taught me to enjoy the process of applying makeup and to play with colors, shadows, glitter, … Now I do my makeup even on those days I don’t have to (go to work, go out, look put together etc.), just because I can, just because I want to do something new. That’s the time in the day I give to myself to become present and aware. It became a way of relaxation and grounding for me. She is amazing, her channel is amazing, her knowledge is phenomenal… if you’re reading this, thank you, Nikki. ❤️
