My mom had some removed from her body that her dermatologist didn’t know if they were cancerous or not, based on appearances alone. So he mapped what he took off, sent them to a lab, and low and behold 2 of them, both at polar opposites of the body WERE cancerous.
I know if I even popped a zit, my forehead would bleed like crazy. I can’t imagine how much she bled from that. Not to mention the infection risk, and the massive scar.
Why are dermatologists so backed up compared to other specialties? Is it because it gets backed up due to people’s superficial wants, or? After an appointment is made, it takes months to see my derm 😕 With other specialities, it doesn’t take as long. Gastroenterology, for example.
I’m thinking cause insurance companies don’t see dermatologists as important as other specialists? My dad had skin cancer removed, so that does not require a quicker evaluation, ugh.
Gastroenterologist takes 4-6 months to get in where I’m at 😭

Oh dear. I hope she had this evaluated and diagnosed prior to her “surgery.” I wonder if her insurance would not cover removal of a benign growth.
I tried to remove a colorless mole from my forehead months ago and now I have a black mole and it’s painful 😢 . I look horrible now 😂
Go to the ER, tell them the pain is horrific, then tell them you aren’t wanting drugs, you just want it fixed! You need to know what it is.

Yep thats me. Probly not on my face cause I dont want a scar but anywhere else is fair game. Lol We cant afford to pay Drs especially when you dont have health insurance! That “procedure” probably costs $1000 for a dermatologist to do.
We just tie thread around it and it eventually dies and falls off. Works like a charm, never comes back, and doesn’t scar at all. Been doing it for decades. We have had the ‘odd’ removed and they were cancerous, but if you have half a brain you know a normal mole from a not so normal mole. Glad to see we aren’t the only ones willing to handle it ourselves lol

We need free healthcare! This poor man’s mindset is why I was giving myself stitches as a kid.. cutting things out… supergluing….
My parents made enough but my dad had substance abuse issues so he had us all convinced we were poor… I didn’t get it until he died of a fentanyl OD.

I just had a biopsy on one and the dressing came off and it looks like a lump of flesh is falling out of it, it’s freaking me out
I don’t know why they didn’t give me stitches instead of this weird gel pad thing, if they had given me the option I’d have told them I’m a really rough sleeper
Idk about the us but in the uk some gps also do minor surgery like removing moles, skin tags etc
We need solutions, not just empathy.
