Just take the oral minoxidil. That’s what I do. I was scared at first because I’m a woman but it has been awesome. No regrets and my animals are safe.

So I have a kitten so what I do prevent any issues with my foam minoxidal and kitten is I wash my hand multiple times very thoroughly and let it dry while I’m in the bathroom standing up doing other skin stuff and my cat doesn’t lick my hair or face and since it only on the frontal third of my scalp and already dry so I don’t see it dripping onto my pillow.
The exposure comes from dry pillowcases as well. I wouldnt risk it.
My head touches nothing my cats could. I use it and wash my hair each night in the shower. It’s worth it to me for my cats and my hair.

So minoxidil is safe to use on humans but basically no other animal? So is it actually safe for humans?
Minoxidil is a vasodilator, which means it opens the blood vessels to send more oxygen to the hair follicles. Local minoxidil won’t cause a human blood pressure to drop but ingestion of it by a dog or a cat can have a systemic (and life threatening) effect because of their small size. If a human drink a bottle of Minoxidil, it will be toxic too.
It’s safe if you use it in the doses recommended on the bottle or as prescribed by a physician. Many common drugs can be very dangerous if the recommended or prescribed dosages are exceeded. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using OTC medicines, and always take prescription medicines in the dose ordered by your physician. If the medicine doesn’t seem to be working, report it to your physician, never change the dosages of any drug without medical advice.

@@Username0467 Lol. Explain how so. I was on an ANTIBIOTIC for acne for 5 years that did damage to my gut flora for YEARS, and birth control for 14 YEARS for periods and also acne, which greatly affected my testosterone levels. I think I have a few valid concerns about what some would say on the surface are needless medications. Does it help some people, sure. But the vast majority of people, especially women, shouldn’t be prescribed all these things when they aren’t aware of what could happen to them down the road.

There’s also exposure from when hair strands fall out each day, which could have residue on them from the Minoxidil.
I’d rather have a bald head than a heart broken by the knowledge that I inadvertently poisoned my pets to death. Thank you SO much for sharing this with us. You can’t know how many of our furry friends lives you’ve just saved but even if it’s just one, that’s one too many.

We have two cats, and my husband has been using minoxidil for a couple years. The cats aren’t allowed on the bed and they don’t lick faces.
I use mine in the morning so there shouldn’t be any residue on my pillow. I don’t allow my cat to get get on my pillows anyway. I use the foam and apply it by squirting it directly on my scalp then massaging it in. I immediately wash my hands and face.
