Is it Ever Okay to Use a Tanning Bed? Kim Kardashian Seems to Think So… | Beauty with Susan Yara

You might've seen a TikTok recently where Kim Kardashian showed off the tanning bed she has in her office. I posted a reaction to it explaining why it's never a good idea to use a tanning bed, but I was surprised by how many comments there were defending her saying it helps with psoriasis. So in this video, I asked the experts if it's ever a good idea to use a tanning bed.

  1. What’s crazy to me is that it’s such a limited range of UV frequency that actually targets psoriasis and they do make beds and light panels that only emit that specific wavelength. They are very expensive so truthfully they’re not obtainable for the average person but they are absolutely obtainable for Kim Kardashian. So I do not buy for a second that she needs a tanning bed for health related reasons. She has access to much safer and more effective options.

  2. It’s so funny how people will say “oh you’re just jealous” regardless of whatever these celebs are promoting. Tanning beds are terrible. Educating people on the reality of the horrible effects doesn’t make ypu a hater. People are delusional and will follow these celebs blindly. Ozempic being a great example as well.

    1. when was she promoting a tanning bed , do you think any actual person will say omg Kim has a tanning bed let me now go buy. a 6-10 thousand dollar tanning bed . get real

    2. @@RW-yt7roof course not. But anyone can go to a tanning salon and use one. So yeah, she is influencing other’s behavior.

    3. I wouldn’t put Ozempic in the same category. It actually has benefit for some people, tanning beds do not.

  3. When I was in my early 20’s I used a tanning bed 3-4 days a week for a long time. đŸ˜”
One of the biggest regrets of my life. I wish I never stepped foot in one. Can happily say I haven’t been in a tanning bed for 10 years. Wear my spf every day and truly hope I haven’t damaged my skin for life. It’s no joke to all the young girlies. Avoid them at all cost!!

  4. You Can say whatever, but I know when I tan I look and feel inside an better . So I’ll keep doing it until I don’t

  5. Glad you made that statement in the first 10 seconds of the video! I’ve been living in Asia for the past month where I was accepted as the US delegate at a Diplomatic completion and I got naturally tan. I remember seeing Kim’s video a while ago and recently joined Planet Fitness because it was cheap and was debating using the tanning stand up booth once per week and the red light stand up booth everyday. I was debating using the tanning booth with spf to minimize damage but I don’t think it would even be worth it with the negative side effects lol. I am a big player on SPF. Current favs are Asian Nivea Vitamin C SPF 50 PA+++ and Skin1004 Madagascar Centella SPF 50 PA++++

  6. I don’t understand with all the money that she has. Why doesn’t she get a red light therapy bed instead of a tanning bed?

  7. Are SAD lamps damaging as well? I’ve also heard of people using tanning beds for short periods of time to help with seasonal depression?

  8. OH MY GOODNESS. Thank you thank you thank you for being so direct. Right out of high school in the early 2000’s I won a membership to a tanning salon. Of course I used it, but I never went back. I kinda knew in the back of mind this was not good for body. I think I just liked the lotions and trendiness of it all… but I got out!!!

    1. They would give you lotions to help burn you better. It’s the craziest community I ever got a good look into.
