Happy Sunday Dr Dray excited to be here. Thanks for giving this great advice have a good night.
I love rubbing alcohol. And Neosporin. Stuff does wonders.
Edit: Ppl saying this stuff doesn’t work just trust me bro
The studies say otherwise but go ahead and keep on using your anecdotal evidence. Lol
@Jess Jthe earth is still spinning even though some people don’t use evidence-based practices when cleaning their cuts. there’s really no need to be a condescending dweeb about it.
I don’t use those anymore, but when I did when I was younger, they did work.
Thanks for showing us more than just this vague video!
She explains it all in her longer videos!
You need more than this?
What are you even doing on YouTube Shorts? 😂
She explains it in the comments – first one
Would aquaphor work the same?
Aquaphor is basically expensive Vaseline; they’re both petroleum jelly 😁
it would. it’s essentially vaseline with additional moisturing and repairing ingredients. i love it for any skin barrier disruptions
@Christopher Featherley actually from what I found it seems that aquaphor has more ingredients than Vaseline. Aquaphor has things like mineral oil, ceresin, lanolin alcohol, panthenol, glycerin, and bisabolol. They both include petroleum jelly but Vaseline is 100% petroleum jelly. Most say that aquaphor does a better job overall at moisturizing than Vaseline because of its humectant ingredients! :)
@Laura Martini I recently used it for a chemical burn I got from another skin care products and it helped a ton! I’d love to see side by sides of aquaphor vs Vaseline on damaged skin
Yes but better because it has additional ingredients that help
Aquaphor? 👍
Aquaphor is basically expensive Vaseline 😅 they’re both Petroleum jelly, btw 😁
CeraVe healing ointment will do better if you are looking for petroleum jelly with added benefits.
totally. it’s vaseline but better. more moisturising ingredients and other skin-repairing properties. i like it better than vaseline because it adheres better to the akin. but it is a lot more expensive. so just go with whatever you can afford
@Christopher Featherleyno, aquaphor has other ingredients than petroleum jelly, while Vaseline is only petroleum jelly.Aquaphor works better.I use both
What about goat saliva? 🐐
Yeah I heard hydrogen peroxide makes wounds scar…
it does lead to more scarring, yeah. you can clean small wounds with just soap and clean, running water
How about vinegar? All my life and after a family believe we use vinegar to disinfect and it does connect the tissues faster.
Ouch 😭
Does anyone remember Ozonol?
It was what we had before polysporin. Please do not use polysporin
people put vicks rub on cuts???? what?????
i was prescribed an antibiotic ointment after getting a mole removed and the area had been bleeding quite a bit. i imagine it’s fine to use an antibiotic ointment if advised and prescribed by a physician. not just out of your own volition.
I imagine people who want to torture their kids
Heal cuts fast with plain petroleum jelly. This keeps the wound bed clean & moist, facilitating healing. Avoid putting alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on a cut, as these damage cells and slow healing. Antibiotic ointments, like Neosporin, are no better then plain petroleum jelly for healing cuts and preventing infection, yet they can trigger a contact dermatitis that slows healing. Antibiotic resistance is also a concern with these medicated ointments. Vicks vapo rub is a popular remedy, but the strong menthol & camphor can cause contact dermatitis and slow healing.
We use Frankincense essential oil mixed with jojoba oil. Works like a charm and Fast!
How should we clean and desinfect a wound then?
Dilute soap & water
My surgeon recommended medical grade honey. That did the trick!
what about iodine solution?
my cuts never heal if i use vaseline. i wonder why it doesn’t work for me
I’ve been using Aquaphor. I hope that’s ok.
Aquaphor works great!
Aquaphor is so much better than Vaseline on cuts
