Lol good point! I went off pore strips and physical exfoliants because I bought into the THEYRE HORRIBLE FOR YOU hype, but ngl a once a month pore strip plus a very gentle physical scrub is working really well for me right now
@Ditto5432yesss I actually never quit physical exfoliation completely, I just moved on to the silicone brushes that are gentle and don’t harbor bacteria easily. But now I got back to using the old sugar/salt scrubs every now and then
Neem soap also gets rid of blackheads very quickly but is very drying to the skin
@memeN036but my issue is is that it’s only temporarily effective. It ultimately is really damaging to the skin barrier, no?
@RS-cd5tsthere’s no hard evidence (at least I haven’t found any) that the physical exfoliation causes micro-tears, and I think as long as you’re not harsh with it it’s not going to really damage skin barrier. You can over-exfoliate with the chemical ones as well. I think the silicone brushes are pretty safe and hard to over-do.

It broke me out horribly unfortunately since it’s olive oil based, but aside from that it glided nicely on the skin.

Hello Dr. Dray, I am 65 years old and have recently started using almost all of the Advanced Clinicals products. Peptide Serum , Vitamin C serum, and about 4 tubs of different creams for face and body . My daughter got them for me saying they are inexpensive and Made in the USA . Would you consider doing a review for their products please ? Are they good ? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you .

I have super sensitive skin… what is comparable for wrinkles/benefits as differin/retinol?
Nothing is as effective as retinol, unless you want to use Botox
Salicylic acid aggravated my hyperpigmentation. I’m trying the Adapaline gel now. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
I wonder if you have a mild allergy to one of the ingredients (not necessarily the salicylic acid)
@TerracottaOliveidk I’m kinda slow. I kept trying different cleansers with salicylic acid, because they were all recommended from dermatologists. Finally I noticed the times I used a cleanser without it, the redness and darkness calmed down. Much better after using adapaline. IF I don’t pick at any bumps 🫣
Remember to use SPF! I allowed my skin to get some pigmentation I think after applying SA and too much sun exposure
Love the pore strips immediate results but be gentle and patient too

Most of my pores are filled with these sebum filaments, they’re a combination of my own sebum, dead cells and also products like cremes, stuck in the pore and oxidised. I still haven’t found a suitable salicylic acid for me( There’s no Paula’s choice in my country and la roche-posay’s effaclar wash with salicylic acid doesn’t do much for me.
cyberspace7208 dunno, I heard that Paula’s choice was sold to Unilever with questionable ethics, so it’ll only go downhill for this brand.
I wonder if in your country you can get neem soap … it can usually be found in most Indian Grocers and does get rid of blackheads but it can be drying to the skin

Tretinoin has been amazing at helping to minimize my filaments. I use to get more of tiny black hairs in my nose pores too and those have almost completely stopped
Tretinoin does not stop the growth of facial hair
@InimeKai didn’t say that it did. However, its ability to increase cell turnover and reduce sebum production directly helps manage dark, large sebaceous filaments which make vellus hairs/peach fuzz more noticeable, darker, or more prominent. My firsthand experience is that I don’t have as many dark hairs on my nose anymore.
That’s the only place I get acne bad still. I occasionally get strays on the forehead and chin. I think I need to find mini sizes of the stuff you recommend for acne. 😅 meanwhile I have been using Amalctin for years. Since it was by prescription. I had some strange rash turned out to be hives from being allergic to Metformin. But it was amazing how much it helped and I replace the Costco size a few times a year. 😊
Sulfur soap has helped me too, my nose is clearer since i use it
Another one that really does work is neem soap and the one thing though is that it can be very drying to the skin
Im ngl my pores are powerful. Not only is my skin dehydrated but even on retinols, adapalene, tretnoin, tazoratene, and when i was on accutane i still had so much sebaceous filaments as well as blackheads. Same with aha and bhas. Theres nothing that works. Even those pore strips from biore dont do anything. Its stuck in there good but i can see them without an up close mirror
Maybe you need a better product brand. Then those drugstore strips
My huge pores are right next to my rosacea. Hopeless.
I use noxema salicylic acid pads if not morning and night at least at night
