@Night Shade it’s not that it’s better, there’s just more research and data to show tret is the superior anti aging med comparative to adapaline. Personally, I think whatever works best for you. Others have said they like adap more, and vice versa.
Doctor Just wondering if you ever used emu oil or jojoba oil for your skin? I used emu oil successfully on very sensitive dry skin face hands feet body It had no fragrance and was very soothing I am thinking of switching to jojoba oil as a plant based alternative I know you have tried many products Thank you
Anecdotally, adapalene along with liberal moisturizer use has definitely gotten rid of my fine lines and subtle signs of aging from not wearing sunscreen as a kid. I started it when I was 20, so I’m not too sure how well it would have worked if I had more pronounced photoaging. I’m still trying to heal my PIE after 2 years, and it just so happens that a lot of the ingredients that are recommended for that also have some anti aging benefits, so I feel confident enough that my overall routine should offer plenty anti-aging benefits as I get older. Adapalene is just much cheaper and easier to get than Tretinoin.
Same, I used adapelene for over a year (five times a week) and my skin was at its best, so I decided to give tretinoin a shot because that’s basically what everyone on the internet recommended for even better results lol. I was extremely careful while trying to incorporate it into my night-time routine, had tried plenty of tips and tricks to make it work for me but it just didn’t, even after a full year. It was actually a dermatologist who told me that all the texture I had developed and the cysts were because of it, and that I should’ve just kept using adapelene if I was seeing such great results with it. So I’m basically on square one rn but my skin has improved significantly ever since I stopped using tret. Maybe it’s just not for everybody.
How about retinol that many added to skincare like serum, toner, night cream is there any benefit or no for anti aging? Because my skin got the side effect but heals by the time
The smile at the end lolzz! I personally use adapalene for anti aging because retinol irritates my skin no matter how much I buffer or spread out the use. Haven’t tried retinAl/ or tretinoin yet because adapalene gives me the smoothing effect I was hoping for! I love your shorts Dr Dray! ✌️
Adapalene helped improve the appearance of my skin! I was starting to notice my makeup didn’t look as smooth and my pores were looking huge so i started to use dufferin gel 1% solely for this because I have no acne problems. It really helped to reduce the look of pores and my skin started to look so much better and brighter. After a while I began including bakuchiol in my routine and it was perfection. Now I use tretinoin cream .25 then .5, but if I can’t get the tret cream, I’ll def go back to adapalene.
All I know is differin makes my pores less noticeable and my face look fresher overall. Wouldn’t be surprised if it helps with fine lines in the long run.
I use prescription azelaic acid for my rosacea. Could I add adaplene to my regimen? My face does tend to be sensitive but would love to add an OTC anti-aging product that’s actually effective.
I first used Differin in 2007, when a doctor prescribed it for me. My skin had never looked better. Then I stopped because my free insurance had expired, so I couldn’t get anymore. I tried to find it online everywhere, because I never forgot what it did for my skin. Imagine my surprise when they started selling it over the counter, years later! 😭😭
In my experience, tretinonin is not good for Afro-Caribbean/Black skin. When I used it, it just left a dry, cakey, cracked mess and skin that couldn’t hold any moisture. But Differin has been good to me lol.
I currently use tret on my face and will use adapaline on my body especially my chest. I’ve used tret on my chest before and it didn’t really do anything but after using LRP adapaline, my chest pores have shrunk and acne there is minimal now c:
I am 46 and started using retinol 5 years ago. I used it for 2 years then switched to adapalene. I used adapalene for a year and my skin liked that much better than the retinol and I did have a little anti-aging benefits, more than retinol. Then over a year ago I switched to Tret .025%. It was a total game changer. Talk about anti-aging. I’m serious, it reversed the clock before my eyes as the months went by. I would never go back to adapalene or retinol now. My skin looks better at 46 then I did at 40 by using tretinoin
I hope so! I’ve been using it for the last year for this purpose alone lol (can’t afford tretinoin right now). I think my skin looks pretty good tbh but hard to say how much it’s helped with anti-aging.
Omg that last smile dr dray ur too funny ❤
How do you feel about bruise gel/cream for under eye dark circles?
LOL when she smiled at the end and then stopped smiling. I love her
I love her too!
I’m on tretinoin now, but adapalene definitely had some anti-aging effects on my face when I used it for like 2 years.
is tretinoin better for anti aging?

What adapalene brand do you use?
Ohhh yes! There’s that Jim Carrey grin at the end. LoVe it😂😆
For some reason my skin looks and feels way better when using adapalene rather than Tretinoin.

agree!! i’m on my 12th week and my skin is improving so much

I used adapalene before seeing a derm and switching to tretinoin and it has been far superior! <3
So does that mean I can incorporate retinol into my adapalene regimen on different nights? I really want to reap the benefits of anti-aging also.
