  1. Thank you for talking about this. Also, the beard sunscreen issue !! Lol. I have a beard and l use two different sunscreens for my face and my beard area.

I thankfully only used “mens” skincare starting out in 2020 and i wont go back. With the amount of fragrance and stuff in there and the weird plant extracts and ingredients in those types of marketed products it should be considered a scam honestly 😆 thankfully i found your channel and saved my money and my skin. Happy Saturday!

  2. 53 seconds. I’ve never been this early for anything. Thanks for talking about this issue. I’ve been telling my guy for YEARS to take care of his skin. I finally got him wearing sunscreen every day (not the correct amount but I have to pick my battles) and I built him a very VERY simple skincare routine with 3 products. One face wash, one a.m. moisturizer with spf, and Cerave moisturizer he can use on body and face at night. The fanciest product is the olay mineral spf because everything else burns his eyes. He’s surprisingly consistent with it now.

    1. My bf few yrs ago was the only one that took care of himself like that and when he quit smoking his face was glowing. Also 29 which helps!🤪🤪🤪💖

    2. I order chemical sunscreens from Asia and Europe. No eye burning. He’ll like those if he doesn’t like the white cast of the mineral sunscreens. :)

  3. As a man I keep it simple. Cerave cleanser once a day, retinol in the night, sun screen when I go out and moisturize when needed. My skincare is basically those 4 products and some vaseline for the winter months.

  4. I also have experienced the dry eye lid with a salicylic cleanser, I alternate now with Vanicream cleanser, which I tried because or you- thank you! And I use LaRouche Posay’s Cicaplast balm on the regular(3x’s per week) as a night time moisturizer or for slugging, if that’s what it called☺️
Glad you talked about mens skincare! Thank you! Always looking for something for my 28 year old son- any more recommendations? Christmas stocking stuffer ideas?
    Have a good weekend!!!

  5. Recently, come across your channel and have garnered some Great info. Really appreciate the fact that you are incorporating us men in your Channel. We Need it. I find we let things go Much longer than women, until it becomes just too annoying for us. I, personally have already made some changes and am seeing results immediately! Thank You!

  6. Another great video. I put Aveeno body wash on my scalp that has severe eczema and it cleared it up for now. Thanks for your suggestions of colloidal oatmeal. Have a great day!

  7. We also need to lift this stigma or shame around men using skincare. We all have skin and need to take care of it.

    1. Yes! I was just thinking that. I’d love to get my adult son to wear sunscreen, but it’s a tough sell. Unfortunately, we didn’t raise him to use sunscreen diligently, so here we are.

  8. I appreciate the segment on mature men’s skin care.

Your channel has inspired me to be more thoughtful about my skincare regime and visit a dermatologist last week for the first time in over 20 years for a check-up and anti-aging recommendations.

    Thank you!

  9. I’m 25M and I just started tretinoin. Got into skincare this year because of the off the charts TX heat and UV 🥵 I noticed the impact the sun was having on my skin over the years

  10. Perfect topic, I’m male 53yr from Northumberland, UK. A few months ago I started derma rolling and I was getting patches of dry skin peel and a few white heads to which I rarely get so I started looking on YT and found you along others. I do use skin products like, Olay, CeraVe, Vaseline and Aveeno, all non fragrance products. Most work great but some don’t, mainly around the eye area. I’m an Ex welder and work outdoors a lot so not trying to turn the clock back facial wise but protect and slow down the ageing process in any way I can.
It’s surprising how many men actually do try and look after their skin but don’t mention it unless someone talks about the topic. More Mature skin and male topics would be great even though what you’re doing is fantastic. You introduced me to Aveeno, thank you and keep up the fantastic work, kind regards, Richy 😀👍

  11. Happy Saturday! So nice to hear more men’s skin care advice even though I use more women’s as it’s far better lol and less fragrance. You are spot on with the whole men’s skin market which is lacking and underrated and I tend to avoid all together! You could do a men’s video once a month dedicated to men! Cute shorts and top 😉😎🤗

  12. Ah, I’ve been lurking and waiting for something on men’s skincare 😂

I am not ashamed of having a routine and enjoying skin, scalp, and hair care. My girlfriend loves that I do it, and it’s something we can do together and both enjoy.

I think it’s important that we don’t so heavily generalise men’s self care. A while back I was prescribed tret for mild acne, texture, and fine lines. I could never adjust to it, and I followed the instructions to the letter. Never more than a pea size, sandwich method, sunscreen, etc etc. Then I tried retinal, retinol, HPR, etc over the course of 3 years before coming back around to tret and just could not ever adjust to any of them. My face always felt badly windburned and my eyes watered badly.

Same with old school sunscreens – anything with homosalate and octocrylene, and my eyes will be watering and skin will be prickling all day.

Can throw literally anything else at my skin though!

Peptides, niacinamide, panthenol, glycolic acid, and red light led masks have been my saving grace.

    1. I am very fair and have sensitive skin, I could never adjust to Tretinoin until I tried two suggestions. One was from Angie of Hot and Flashy which was to use it one night a week for a month, two nights a week the second month etc. in other words go very slowly and if you’re having problems back down and stay where you are another month before moving on. I had to do two months at five nights a week. Even though I eventually worked up to seven nights a week I found the routine too drying and dropped back to six nights a and just moisturize one night per week. The other suggestion was from Dr. Dray, which was to apply Tretinoin to a clean, well moisturized face. I cleanse then put on moisturizer, go watch TV with my husband for a couple, hours letting the moisturizer absorb and dry. I apply 0.05 % Tretinoin right before bed. I have no desire to move up to a stronger percentage. If you haven’t tried this you might want to consider it. I have been doing this for four years now and I’m glad to finally find a sustainable routine that includes Tretinoin. I now get compliments on my skin, that never happened before.

    2. You may want to give Adapalene a try, it’s known to be less irritating. Dr. Drat has good info on it and the difference between that and tret. Differin gel.

  13. You are so right about growing your hair by not cutting it LOL. I’ve been watching the blowout professor and he says that that is the number one way to grow your hair. Don’t get frequent trims, they don’t make your hair grow. Common sense!😂

  14. Also Beard Peeps: The Struggle of getting the product past the beard. Use lathering products. There are many face washes with active ingredients. BHA/Benzoyl Peroxide face wash is great for acne under the beard. I tend to use Dermalogica daily Micro- or Milk- Foliants because they contain many active ingredients. They also rub into a lather and have other active ingredients, that my face wash doesn’t focus on.

  15. I got the Shea butter spf lip balm after I saw comments on your videos about it, and I love it. It’s the first spf lip balm I’ve ever bought that I look forward to putting in, i.e., it’s doesn’t feel like a chore.

  16. My female coworkers are shook i use the vanicream in the tub as my facial moisturizer. In arizona my skin is so dry it stays on as a barely dewy look. Love it.

  17. Not a man but I’m watching anyway. Lol! I know this will be helpful to many of your male viewers. I’ve used the Jack Black sunscreen on your recommendation several years ago and I like it. I do have mature skin so I found this helpful. Happy Saturday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a peaceful evening. ❤

  18. I’ve shared some of your videos about retinol & sun damage w/my sister & 2 friends. It’s valuable, vital information ! Very grateful to you, Andrea.

  19. Hi Dr. Dray! I love those K-beauty advent calendars!! So fun. Hope you had a great weekend and a good week ahead 😊❤

  20. Not slowing down with oil production here, I am 62 and my skin is still very oily. SA cleanser is my best friend and definitely helps.
