Especially for scalp psoriasis would be wonderful! From coal tar shampoo to Duvonex(vitamin A derivative) to liquid steroid treatment. Such as maximum safe usage: ex. : weekends only. Thx

Unfortunately Doc many women in many countries use mixes in which steroids are included, all to lighten skin tone, or have smooth skin, and the rebounds are horrendous. Thank you for spreading awareness ❤❤❤
Absolutely agreed😭. My doctor prescribed me steroid creams EVERYTIME I went to him for flare ups, I continued it regularly for 9+years , now it’s been 1.5 year since I’m off steroids COMEPLETELY , I’m going thru topical steroids withdrawal symptoms AND MY ECZEMA HAS NEVER BEEN THIS GOOD🥺 my face my body my hands MY SCALP finally can breathe , my eczema is gone GONE 90% just small triggers left like washing detergents or certain hand soaps ( fragrant one esp ) if steroids have not been working for u at all don’t use it , it’s just a temporary fix, do ur own research and start ur eczema or skin healing journey , not everything scientist or doctor make is good for us ☹️
Were you prescribed it through a Dermatologist if I may ask??
I don’t think any dermatologist will tell you to use steroids continuously for 9 yrs?
Steroid creams/ointments are for when you flare up. So it’s pretty normal for a doctor to prescribe it if you’re having a flare up lol. I have heard so many people claim their eczema is better off without steroids but the thing is that just means you’re not in a flare up at the moment… When you flare up your skin isn’t just gonna go back to normal if you just leave it alone. You’ll just end up making it worse if you leave it alone untreated, that’s why steroids are important in the healing process of the skin. You should not be using it every single day of the year of course, because if you are that means you’re having a flare up every single day which is a whole other issue… I often have to use it during summer time due to the heat or in fall when my allergies are really bad. Those things trigger my eczema and I have flare ups during those times of the year the most. It’s possible something was triggering your eczema and you got rid of the trigger so you’re okay right now. You could also have been allergic to an ingredient in the steroid you were using which does happen.
I like to use apple cider vinegar on my face as an alternative— it fixes everything 😂
Unfortunately learned the hard way. A (bad) Derm prescribed steroid cream for an allergic reaction. Made it so much worse… cysts & rosacea. Took three months to recover. That was the first week of a new job!

Totally agree. As a kid i had eczema around my eyes and mouth. I was prescribed hydrocortisone by my GP and since then, yes the eczema has cleared up but ive been left with horrific pigmentation around those areas and ive always had a complex since i was a kid about them. Its really affected my self confidence even to this day.

So corticosteroid is bad for your face?
I was prescribed hydrocortisone cream 2.5% for folliculitis on my face from shaving. I only use it once a week and sometimes just once every other week. It seems to be helping. My dermatologist did say not to use it more than 1-2 times a week. I’ve read too many horror stories and am freaked out just using it in a couple areas on my face once a week.
Is hydrocortisone the same as corticosteroid?
I got hot tub folliculitis but I didn’t put hydrocortisone on it. It cleared up with a shower and keeping clean and not going in that hot tub again. Try using a toner and tossing out your razor every time. Also maybe see a different derm.
I had a steroid that was prescribed by my derm trigger perioral dermatitis, she misdiagnosed me and then prescribed another steroid to treat it…flare ups kept getting worse. Fast forward a year later I finally realized what a dangerous cycle I’d be caught in. Cut it off cold turkey, had the worst rebound, was too embarrassed to go outside…I’ve been left with permanent red patches and nine months later the perioral dermatitis still hasn’t gone away. Seriously stay away from steroids, I wish I had been properly warned.

Oddly enough I think a hemorrhoid cream is better for reducing swelling than hydrocortisone.
I personally don’t do well with hydrocortisone at all (it burns on my skin), but I do have prescription triamcinolone acetonide for itching from my dermatographia flare-ups and when I get hives. I did use some on my chin and neck after electrolysis along with ice compresses and it did help.
The triamcinolone is the *only* thing that helps the hives I get on my face, neck, and other parts of my body from environmental allergies. I’m on several allergy meds and they don’t work 😭

Doctors prescribed me exactly this for my eczema since before kindergarten. It used to work. Until it rebounds in my adulthood and made it worse with no signs of clearing up. Went to a specialist and was prescribed antibiotics. My eczema now has cleared with prominent hyperpigmentation. Despite still being in my late 20s, my skin significantly creased as a side efect. If focused under naked eye, it’ll seem like tiny wrinkles on an elderly. It’s been 3 years and still on different antibiotics (which is worrying for some of the same side-effect mentioned by Dr. Dray) but I’m glad I turned away from steroid creams. The rebound sucks the very life out of me. Hope my next review, my Derm will finally cease prescribing oral/topical antibiotics too.
